After many visits to Europe, admiring its beautiful places of worship, the question was raised about New York&#8217;s own. We realized that while our fair city&#8217;s churches, temples and cathedrals lacked in antiquity and history, many were exquisite. But just how many?<\/p>\n<p>As it turns out, legions. And no, we&#8217;re not solely talking about the usual suspects (St. Patrick&#8217;s, St. John the Divine), but at others that while lesser known, still shone. True, we are making a wholly aesthetic assessment, the opposite of <em>2 Corinthians 4:18<\/em>. While we know faith shines bright across the city, we only look at outwardly appearances.<\/p>\n<p>This journey is still evolving, and given the geography of the city, could well be endless. But after looking at years&#8217; worth of photos we had to start somewhere. This is it.
