It&#8217;s already perched on an 80-foot hill, and its 164-foot Cardinal&#8217;s Tower gives it an extra push.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Romanesque Revival church was built in 1901 by Harding &amp; Gooch. It&#8217;s on the site of the previous church, built in 1844, which was Staten Island&#8217;s first Roman Catholic church and parish. The Cardinal Tower was added in 1917, in honor of Cardinal John M.
